Taylor attends the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards

Tonight was the 2021 Grammy Awards, the biggest night in music. Taylor arrived in style, in an Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress covered in floral appliqués that only a Folklorian queen could pull off with Christian Louboutin heels to match. Taylor did a magical live performance with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. The songs performed were Cardigan, August and Willow! Taylor made history tonight as the first female artist to win Album of the Year three times, bringing her total Grammy count to 11! Congrats Taylor!

  1. Her performance was so whimsical and cozy! I hope someday soon we’ll get to see her bring the rest of the Folklore/Evermore songs to life.

Her dress is not my favorite of her Grammy looks. I just adored her outfit from 2015–the shoes and everything looked gorgeous on her, but the dresses she chose for last night are very fitting for the Folklore/Evermore eras.

She was so nervous and happy while accepting her award! It would have been very disappointing had she not won, I’m sure Taylor would’ve been fine–she realizes how loved Folklore was and she never even planned on it being such a commercial success, but it is just nice to see it recognized as album of the year.

And wow, what a difference from 2016! It was heartbreaking to hear in Miss Americana that she felt she had no one to celebrate with when she won AOTY in 2016 and that mentally she wasn’t in a very good place, even though she just had just won the award that inspired her to create 1989 in the first place. Now she has won it by making music that she never planned or expected to make–that she made just because she loves making music and to help her through the pandemic. It feels like we’ve come full circle! :)
