Swift stays atop the chart, while Harris hikes 21-9, powered by sales of his new album. Plus, Mr. Probz rides ‘Waves’ higher.
Swift also becomes the first act to lead the Artist 100 for as many as four weeks (the past three consecutively). She passes Sam Smith, who’s topped the chart for three total weeks (dating to the list’s July 19 launch).
The Artist 100 provides the first weekly ranking dedicated to measuring artist activity across Billboard’s most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Billboard 200 albums chart and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.
Swift again sports a comfortable lead over runner-up Meghan Trainor (2-2). Despite a 43 percent loss in chart points, coupled with Trainor’s 18 percent uptick, Swift boasts more than four times as many points as Trainor; last week, Swift held a massive nearly 10-to-1 lead in points.
