Taylor No. 1 on Artist 100 Chart, J. Cole Debuts at No. 2

Swift reigns for a ninth week, while Cole launches fueled by album sales.

Taylor Swift remains atop the Billboard Artist 100 chart, logging a record-extending ninth week at No. 1, while J. Cole soars in at No. 2, powered by sales for his new album.

The Artist 100 provides the first weekly ranking dedicated to measuring artist activity across Billboard’s most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Swift crowns the Artist 100 again, holding a nearly 2-to-1 points lead over Cole. With Swift up by 5 percent in overall points, album sales again account for the majority of her Artist 100 standing (38 percent). Her 1989 dips 2-1 on the Billboard 200, after five weeks at the summit, with 324,000 total album equivalent units (with 278,000 from pure album sales).
