Taylor Swift’s Realest Interview Ever

Weren’t we told they don’t make pop stars this big anymore? Nobody bothered to tell Taylor Swift. Chuck Klosterman interrogates the most popular human alive

“That’s a pap,” she says as we leave the restaurant, pointing toward an anonymous gray car that looks like the floor model in an auto dealership specializing in anonymous gray cars. Her security detail suggests that it’s probably not a paparazzo because there’s no way a paparazzo could find us at such an unglamorous, unassuming establishment. But as with seemingly every other inference she has ever made, Taylor Swift is ultimately proven right. The guy in the gray car is taking her picture. This annoys her, but just barely.

It’s August in Southern California. We crawl into the back of a massive Toyota and start driving to Swift’s West Coast residence, located in a rural enclave of Beverly Hills. The gray car trails us through Franklin Canyon. Swift whips out her phone and starts showing me images from the video shoot for “Wildest Dreams,” including a clip of a giraffe licking her face. She has more photos on her phone than any person I’ve ever met.

Taylor to co-host the 2016 Met Gala

Taylor will be one of the hosts of the 2016 Met Gala alongside co chairs Anna Wintour and Idris Elba. The theme for the 2016 Met Gala is Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age of Technology. The Met Gala will take place on May 2nd 2016 in New York City. Read more about the event below!

On Tuesday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the new theme for next year’s Costume institute exhibition: “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” The upcoming exhibition will focus on the dichotomy between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion. “Traditionally, the distinction between the haute couture and prêt-à-porter was based on the handmade and the machine-made,” explains Andrew Bolton, curator of the Costume Institute. “But recently this distinction has become increasingly blurred as both disciplines have embraced the practices and techniques of the other.”

The museum also announced the 2016 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 2 and will be hosted by cochairs Idris Elba, Jonathan Ive, Taylor Swift, and Anna Wintour. Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, and Miuccia Prada will serve as honorary chairs, and the gala and accompanying exhibition will be sponsored by Apple.

“Wildest Dreams” Reaches 955.8K Sales; Crossing 1 Million This Week

Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” will cross the 1 million US sales mark this week.

When the October 2-8 tracking week concluded, Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” was within striking distance of the 1 million US sales mark.

It will surely cross that mark during the current (October 9-15) tracking week.

According to Nielsen Music, drove 84,014 paid US downloads during the aforementioned October 2-8 frame.

Down slightly from the previous week’s mark (85,253), it actually results in a higher position on the Digital Songs chart. “Wildest Dreams,” which was last week’s #4 seller, rises to #3 this week.
