Taylor Swift’s “1989” now boasts a worldwide sales total in excess of 9 million.

Taylor Swift’s Grammy-nominated album “1989” has reached another milestone.

The album, which first emerged on October 27, 2014, recently crossed the 9 million worldwide sales mark.

While the majority — just over 5.6 million — of those sales were generated in the United States, the album’s international performance is nothing at which to sneeze.

The worldwide sales achievement serves as a testament to both the album’s immense resonance and Taylor Swift’s considerable star power.

“1989” is a Grammy nominee for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Single “Blank Space” is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while the Kendrick Lamar remix of its “Bad Blood” is a nominee for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
